Een origineel lunchpakket maken voor een zesjarige, het is eens iets anders. Vorig weekend kwam het metekindje van IR op bezoek. Hij is een grote fan van de film Finding Nemo, dus had ik voor hem een cadeautje: een coole stevige Finding Nemo brooddoos van Rosti Mepal. Scoren bij de schoonfamilie, heet zoiets. 😉
In de brooddoos zat echter een Hot Cuisine de Pierre experiment. Altijd maar die Samsonworst – als dat überhaupt nog bestaat -, het kan niet gezond zijn. Nog een geluk dat hij kerstomaatjes boven snoep verkiest. Ik wou hem eens wat ander beleg laten proeven, hem laten kennis maken met andere smaken. Een nobel doel, vond ik zelf.
Het beleg bestond uit pesto en mozzarella. Echte deze keer, dus niet van die goedkope, naar rubberen smakende dinges. De boterham werd in “visvorm” gesneden. De doos werd opgevuld met tomaatjes en wortelen. Lekker gezond, me dunkt.
De doos beviel hem. Ook de tomaatjes, daar was hij fan van. De vis vond hij bovendien leuk. Nu was het wachten op het moment van de waarheid, de grote smaaktest. Lust hij het of niet? Gaat hij voor mijn Italiaanse versie of verkiest hij te blijven bij de Samson-, Plop- of Maya De Bij-worst?
De foto’s spreken voor zich. Voorlopig hou ik het maar bij kerstomaatjes, wortels en … stuutjes met worst.

Meer info: Rosti MepalTo make an original lunch for a six year old, it’s not easy. Last week the godson of IR visited us. He is a big Finding Nemo fan. So I had a little present for him: a lunch box of Finding Nemo made by Rosti Mepal.
My goal was to make an original lunch. He always eats an untasty unhealthy sausage as lunch. Fortunately, he rather eats cherry tomatoes than candy. At least, one thing healthy. I wanted him to try some new things, so I created my own sandwich.
I made one with pesto and mozzarella. The real one, of course, so not the cheap tasteless one. I cut the sandwich in a litte fish shape and filled the box with carrots and cherry tomatoes. Very healthy, according, to me.
He really liked the box. Also the cherry tomatoes…and the carrots…and the fish shape. Would he love the taste or not? Will he chose my sandwich with a lot of flavors or does he still prefer the one with the sausage?
It’s obvious, Im afraid. It still will be the sausage, but I’ll try it again, and again, and again, until he finally likes it.
