Impress family-in-law with a dessert: part one
Last weekend, my mother-in-law visited me and my girlfriend. I promised her I would cook for her. I knew she liked Bavarois or a cake with bavarian cream, so I made a Bavarois. I followed the recipe of the cooking course, but changed some things. Normally I wanted to serve it with honey cookies and a fresh sorbet (thx to @punksweets_27) but I didn’t have time to make the sorbet.
Part one: the Sesame Honey Cookies
based on a recipe from @knackweekend
What do you need? For about 20 cookies: 50 grams of sugar, 50 grams of honey, 50 grams of flour, 50 grams of buttar – sesame seeds
What do you do? Melt the butter in a pan add the sugar. When the sugar is melted, take it off the stove and add the honey. Stir very well and add the flour. Mix it with a spatula till you have a soft dough. Add the sesame seeds. Put it away at a cool place for at least 2 hours.
Take a griddle and cover it with greaseproof paper or baking paper. Place some mounds of dough with the size of a walnut on the griddle. Push the dough into circles of 3 mm thick. Be aware that there is some space left between your cookies, because the cookies will become bigger when they are in the oven. In the mean time heat your oven on 150°C. Place your griddle in the oven and let it bake for 6 minutes till the cookies are gold brown.
Let the honey biscuits cool down for about 15 seconds before you get them from the baking sheet. You can give the cookies a nice shape by folding them around a glass or a rolling pin.
I heard she’s a fan of the cookies…
